Thread regarding Hitachi Vantara layoffs

Somehow it was much easier to attract talented people in the past

How did the company manage to attract talented people before, and now it is no longer able to do so? Someone made a good observation of this - HV could not brag about excellent technology or smooth processes even before, but it managed to attract good people. Maybe they believed the company had a lot of potential. What happened in the meantime?

All the top talent is leaving in their droves. In May and June platinum have had the best talent in the business leave. Enterprise have lost more good people than ever before and commercial….well what a sh-t show that is. All that happens from here is- anyone left will be paid to keep the lights on, until they are turned off

The nepotism bit is true 10000%. What’s concerning, however, is that when people say the “talent” left, I think the are including the enablers and results of said nepotism/politics. These people are now loose at other companies ruining them too lol

All the bad reviews about working here on sites like Glassdoor and here certainly don’t help attract talent especially when the negative points about lack of leadership, strategy, people care, no promotions or increases for years and the nepotism that is rife are true. The only reason a person would join is there desperate for a job or the comp is way above what any other company will pay which for the real workers is very unlikely!
