Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Completely calm...

Rumors of layoffs no longer bother me at all. Moreover, I would like to get laid off as soon as possible.
How many people do you know for whom the layoff was a great service because they hesitated for a long time and were unsure to leave on their own, and when they were finally forced to look for a new job, they found much better opportunities than Allstate?
There are many such cases. Short term stress for long term good.

@ OP- I can honestly tell you that was the case for me. The layoff really ended up being a blessing. I was really NOT happy at that place. I was already looking to get a better job but when I Allstate closed my office I got the severance, unemployment and found a job in workers comp making more money and wayyy better benefits. If your happy at Allstate with all their BS great for you but for those who think they can do better. there is definitely better companies to work for.

I can say it was good for me. I needed to go a long time ago.
Note: severance is NOT a given. I had heard Subro was laid off and was given the choice of a job in Casualty or they were dismissed.
Allstate paid out a lot of money for the 2020 layoffs. There is no law mandating they pay it it.
