Thread regarding Gulfstream Aerospace layoffs

At last I can say goodbye to this place

It took me nearly a year of searching but I finally found a new job. I've wanted to leave for a long time, ever since Gulfstream turned into a shadow of its former self and nepotism and bu-----t politics completely took over. I don't think there's a bright future for anybody at this place, frankly. In any case, I wish all the rest of you good luck, something tells me you're going to need it.

I'm also really happy to be gone. It was a hard decision bc I put in so much hard work, but it's so much better to be somewhere my efforts are actually appreciated. It's also wonderful to work in a professional environment, rather then working in a frat house.

Great news. I left after I saw the blood letting last year. The RIFs I saw in the past were just well needed scrubbings with an occasional innocent victim here and there. But, watching them toss out great people for a bottom line in a fit of panic did it for me. I'm now making 50% more, in a city with great schools and low crime. I feel like I had Stockholm syndrome. I have no idea how I ever agreed to work at that place and put up with the nonsense as long as I did. Biggest regret of my life.

I saw in AIN where Bombardier received order for six Globals from US Air Force.

Best of luck to you! I know I’m feeling less stress and am happy to be away. Have spoken to many people who have left, and they feel the same way.

I was in your shoes 6 months ago and left. I like looking back and watching their incompetent decisions start to slowly creep up on them. Obviously no ill will to my former coworkers.

Leaving was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! I didn’t realize how bad we had it.

GD is squeezing every penny out of GAC. It’s clear GAC is in no position to be a lead innovator anymore.
