Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

I can't lose any more people on my team

A year ago we had more than twice as many people in our team as we have now. Some were laid off, some have walked out. Since there was no backfilling, those of us who are still here have basically had to double the work we were doing. Now with talk of even more layoffs, I don't know if I'm more worried about being laid off or staying and having my workload increase once again. How much do they think we can take, honestly?

Think you can’t lose anymore on your team?
They’ve got more planned, it’s bound to make you scream.
Left hand, right hand, doing what, you say?
This place is one where I can no longer stay.

PPC, OneSource, UltraTax and the rest?
Get ready, baby, it’s time to divest!
Rip-roarin’, it’s the Baron of Fleet
And this time, he’s firm on his feet

This company no longer has any answers
It never did, all it did was fester cancer
They never could unify the product lines
Latest layoffs merely a sign of the times

@OP+1bg8Yd04 I'm in a similar situation - all work no resources and every other day I feel like walking off, layoff package or not. I do what I know professionally I need to do, but I don't go out of my way extra if I can avoid it because I won't get compensated for it later. If it takes me longer to do something because of resourcing, well then too bad. The only thing keeping me here is that I'm still getting a check and benefits while I look elsewhere. If you're reading these pages because you're considering a job, keep looking.
