My dream is to finally leave BN and be able to work in a public library. Maybe it’s just that it would suit my temperament better. I recently read an article about what public libraries can learn from BN. Likewise, I think BN can learn a lot from public libraries. I'm very interested in what you think about it?

Please do everything thing you can to get hired at your local library. After working at BN, I feel like I’ve died and gone to heaven! The book knowledge and customer service skills you learned at BN will serve you well. You are still working with the public but it’s a different vibe. Be willing to start with a PT position. Once you are in the library system you can apply for FT. Follow your dream and work for the library. It is amazing! Good Luck!
This is for those fired from BN.
If you’re one of the part time bodies who could care less about books and just wanted to get paid ( like a scab who takes advantage of others misfortune ) don’t bother !

Many ex Booksellers go to work at Libraries and are very happy.
It’s not about selling. Not about talking people into buying something.
Libraries are important. They give everyone access to books, not just those who can afford $30 plus for a mew hardcover.
