Consequences of staying here for a long time

I can’t lie, I used to be fine here. However, it has not been like that for a long time.
I am trying to find a new job and the conclusion is this: despite investing in growing my skills independently of this company, it happens that my skillset is no longer marketable at all.
This company is stuck in the past when it comes to many things. It seems to me that the worst thing that happens to those who have stayed here too long is that their skills have atrophied?

The 9 times match into the 401K doesn’t begin to offset the elimination of the pension programs. But it was easy to explain and understand. Accountability for outcomes over a substantial career have been eliminated. Unless you make the Leadership Forum ( about 1% ), You are simply a rotating crop.

Leave already! You don’t even have the drive and gumption to leave on your own. Your lack of initiative and drive has been obvious for some time don’t make us get rid of you. You will not be missed! It won’t take your next employer long to see your ineptitude if you don’t change.

To be honest, the consequences of 9x match into your 401k for 15-20 years is devastating.

If most of the people who post here indicated their BU, it would be "home."

The trade-off is your soul for money. This company sucks you dry like a vampire. To succeed, you must concentrate on looking good and making the liars above you look good. Hence all the comments about PowerPoint. Value creation is not helpful to your career.

Most of the posts on this site are so generic they could describe any company in any industry. Be specific. What job? What skills? I don't expect people to indicate their BU, but at least provide enough information to elicit serious responses.

BTW, the E&P job market is almost non-existent for certain disciplines, so don't forget to factor that into your thought process.

The only skills needed are PowerPoint, talking a lot but saying very little, and of course, kissing up to your manager and all his/her superiors (of which there are many).

Bu-t kissing isn't valued outside the company?
