If nothing else, I think ATT is a good stepping stone for finding greener pastures? I don't know anyone else who hasn't found a much better job after ATT. It is only important to learn as much as possible here in as short a time as possible and not stay longer any than that.

I’m leaving next Friday after 6 years- I was hired directly from college into tdp. I got lucky with having old but wise coworkers who set up my 401k. Thanks to them I’m walking out with 540k in that account.

Don't pay attention to some of these comments. The truth is, as horrible as T is as a company, and as bad as Stink and his crew is at running things, T can provide very valuable and attractive experience.
The problem is, you kind of need to get that experience on your own. Whether that's through employee development, nanodegrees, or whatever. The gag is that going out of your way to expand your knowledge, learn new things, and gain broad experience mean nothing at T - a nanodegree doesn't help your career there at all. But other employers will take notice, and they actually like people who take the initiative to grow.
So, yes ... T can provide you with a lot of good stuff for your next job. It's just at T that none of that matters.
I agree. Our team has had far too many knowledgeable and skilled people forced out but go on to better careers elsewhere. It depends on your area, of course, but I do believe having AT&T on a resume is not bad. Get the knowledge, skills, education and take it elsewhere.
If you are in IT , run away before you turn 30.
Many , if not most companies, will not hire T employees or former T employees for fear they will poison their well. These companies know T is nothing more than a ravaging dumpster fire, many other job candidates to choose from.
Only Americans that populate the C-Suite can use T as a springboard. Especially the hatchet men/women they bring in to mismanage organizations and then wack the masses.
Perhaps those working for T overseas can use T as a springboard. Especially those that displace Americans with the golden ticket green card or a work visa.
Many employers won’t hire former ATT people because they feel they can’t match the pay. The ones that pay the same or more think that ATT has poisoned employees to the point we won’t be a good cultural fit. If your not here already steer clear for your own future. This place is toxic.
You will learn that coworkers can whine line no other and constantly trying to bring you down with BS.
Only thing you learn at AT&T is put up with Ignorant Boss's, Lazy Subordinates, Make Work, No Pay Week End Duty, Making Up Excuses for Inept Employees that want to blame you, How to live on Low Pay, Acceptance of Terrible/NO Benefits, Listening to Lies with a straight face and not responding, and FRUSTRATION!
