I can't find any. Not just for the employee but the employer as well. You'd think that being able to cut office costs and enjoy the increased productivity (and I think the majority of us are more productive from home) would be enough to make sure WFH is the priority for the upper management. How it's not is beyond me.

I think there's a big advantage, especially for newer people. Much harder to take time to IM or call someone about your next stupid question (I've been there), than it is to just swivel to the next person in your pod. You also learn just by sitting near people who've been around awhile. Sometimes you learn what to do, and sometimes what NOT to do.
I like being home, but I'm at the end of my career. Not sure how I'd feel if I were new and unsure of what I was doing.
You get to flirt with your attractive coworkers in person.
My area BEGGED to go back into the office full time. All of us. Not saying everyone falls into the following category but it is well known that the employees and areas more outspoken about staying work from home are some of the areas and people most prone to not meeting metrics and production consistently. Again not all but most...
I'll give you one big reason- technology. When users are all in the same office, using the same equipment and directly connected to Allstate's network, there are a lot less issues and/or troubleshooting becomes a lot simpler as you don't have the variables of the routers people are using at home, different ISP's and their equipment, stuff like that. One example, there was a user I was helping last year who was out of work for two weeks- the problem was that her ISP had some firewall that was messing with our VPN, but it took much back-and-forth, finger pointing, etc. to figure this out.
I also agree with the other poster that noted the separation between work/home. And not everyone has the space to have a home office or even wants all that stuff at home.
I'm actually looking forward to going back to the office. I like separating work from home. Also I like my coworkers
I can assure you, that as an organization (don't bother replying about how you personally are so much more productive at home), Allstate as a WHOLE, is significantly less productive working from home than in an office.
They should turn most of these owned building into homeless shelters. That would show real caring for the community ! Glenny could even turn one in to a animal shelter. He’s such a thoughtful caring guy. They could even name the shelter the Wilson homeless shelter and Shapiro Dog shelter !
One thing we were told is home office does not like the fact that they have all these offices sitting dormant while they are still paying for the upkeep and maintenance (security, utilities, server ops, sanitation). The selling off of their commercial real estate did not go well as so many companies tried to sell their properties all at the same time so there is zero market right now for it. That is why some depts that were to be totally remote will be hybrid. In addition many companies around here in Ohio are returning full time to office and state employees must return to their respective offices by mid July. It seems the trend is if we have these properties and offices that they are going to be in use. In addition some departments within Allstate are moving back in office due to their claim that productivity is lower working from home. At least that is the claim they are using to get some back in the office full time.
