The new lower elbow on the 9 block is 2,5,4,
If you are in any of these blocks be prepared for 2 years no raises if you don't get rif'ed
Guessing OP is new to Honeywell, and is confusing a 9 block rating with a PIP. A PIP happens after a "lower elbow" rating. A 5 rating is not lower elbow.
Every team must have a quota of pip because that same percent has to be in the lower elbow. If there are no real pip reasons, managers are often forced to pick if they don't stand up to their director to make another team pip more people.
What is a "pip of 5?"
Agree , run.
Manager has told you flat out you are not wanted.
Work on resume and try for a severance.
PIP is never good, but not always bad. It depends on two things: how well you get along with your manager and the terms of PIP. Bear in mind that managers MUST put some people on PIP, so if you are on good terms with your manager and the terms of the PIP are achievable, then probably not so bad. If the reverse is true, especially the terms of the PIP, then start looking.
RUN FOREST RUN!!!!!!!!!!!
This is great news. Use the PIP, Payment Improvement Plan, as motivation to find another job and increase your pay.
Honeywell can counter to keep you there.
Imagine losing all the people PIPed every year. Lol. Unsustainable!
Start singing the Honeywell song.
