Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

How inspiring is Allstate leadership to you?

Yes, the question is a bit satirical. They only talk the talk but don’t walk the walk. Leadership urgently needs to tackle their own behavior first, before communicating these changes to employees.

Execs give lower mgmt a sh!t sandwich & expect them to sip the koolaid and sell it to staff like it’s a gourmet meal. My manager is cool & in a bad position too, Tries real hard to be honest and play part at same time. We all know from the d-mb town halls what the deal is.

They inspire me not to step in the pile of "dog p-o" they constantly leave in our path everyday by their leadership actions...that's about it.

I’m not inspired by senior leadership at all. Sears 2.0 is what we’re experiencing!

I was inspired so much to switch to a smaller carrier. It was a great choice!

Everyone in Allstate leadership inspires me! Glenn and his Animal Shelter is motivational on how to give back to the community. TW is getting the best possible spokeswoman money can buy! The shift in paradigm to becoming a direct vs agent business.

These are all great attributes that Allstate leadership possesses. They also have a very uneasy customer base who are leaving in droves for a fair price, better service, and a more reliable claims organization. As a direct competitor of Allstate I enjoy how leadership ignores the 800 lbs gorilla in the room. That gorilla is the broken auto product. Allstate’s loss of 14% of its business is inspirational to my bottom line! I hope that TW can last quite a few more years!

I am inspired. They are doing the best with what they have. On one hand they have tenured employees who have become stagnant and lazy. People who think because their as--s have been in a seat for decades that they are owed a job just for that. They quit pulling their weight years ago. On the other hand you have newer employees that come in entitled and thinking that based on their trophy generation mindset that they should be gifted top wages and management positions. If they don't get their way they cry and stomp their feet like petulant children. You also have the claims employees that exaggerate and make up severe work conditions because God forbid they have to work a little to earn their higher than should be wages.

The problem with this company is not management but the employees.

If you can make a delicious word salad, you're qualified for upper management at Allstate. Telling people to "do your job better" and "do more with less" is hardly leadership. I'm in legal btw.

Like management deciding to tell us a team is being added and we should be so happy. They aren't losing their jobs and won't be hiring any of us but we are supposed to be happy Allstate is investing in Subro.
