Lately, the biggest problem for me is my manager who in most cases is not available. Only if he thinks that something is important, then he is willing to communicate. Otherwise he is unreachable. If I have a question about the job to be done, I already know in advance that I should not look for his help.

If i need to talk to my manager, I pick up the phone and ring him. I have catch up calls every 5 weeks. I think it may be down to your individual manager, as I'm a 10yr+ veteran in this company, and all the managers I've worked for have been pretty good. Not in all aspects of work, but in most. Maybe I'm lucky! If I can't reach my manager I speak to a colleague, and there is always a number 2 in the team that has the managers ear.
I’m a manager and I can tell you 3 things.
- I’m embarrasseed when I have to share with my tem the „great ideas” od our leaders. I know, they know that I’m selling BS, so what is the ponint…
- Thank to fit to compete, I need to cover for those who are gone.
- The management layer is also pi---d off same as you are. Do you think I receive more info than you on TH?
That’s expected. D-mb management hire d-mb sr managers, the d-mb sr managers hire the…. The cycle repeats. You are too smart, and not qualify as managers
I had to instruct my manager on Hitachi policy and procedures. What’s worse, he didn’t even know (or he just claims not to know) about state labor laws. Let’s face it, the quality of first and second level management is horrible. What surprises me that there hasn’t been any major law suits. At least not yet.
I have not had a checkpoint/review or guidance from any of my mangers my entire career at hitachi. My last 2 managers i had to train, and let them know what to say in their meetings.
