Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Comp changes coming

From a little bird/rumor....coming end of 1st or 2nd quarter next year.

Finally going to realign and redesign compensation. Agent's are getting a new contract that will focus on larger commissions for new business and lower commissions for renewals. (Allstate is making similar changes) Job Classes will be different for claims and underwriting/CCC- customer facing and non-customer facing roles. A TM in Underwriting is no longer going to make the same as an TM in Claims or CCC that deal with customers. Complex TMs will no longer make the same as an Injury TM. Basically non-customer facing roles will be 10-15% less/lower in salary range than customer facing roles. Also there will be more TL roles/job class to replace many Team Manager jobs. About time!

Not sure Workday is necessarily proof of anything other than People Soft has been an abomination since the 80’s. SF took the vendor product and customized it to the point it was a nightmare (big surprise.)

It's not false. We are going to Workday instead of Peoplesoft. It will change roles and compensation. My block is also changing to this. Search workday on the intranet. There is a draft announcement word document. Coming this year end of dec. Was supposed to be Q3.
If everyone would just look the info is out there and you don't have to be jerks to everyone.
Workday for:
Compensation, merit, incentives
Learning
ESS
Payroll
Performance
Talent mgmt.
Integrated with AWS.

News flash, the company has been “ redesigning and realigning” agent contracts and compensation since the first agent bounced down the bumpy gravel road and banged the farmers daughter almost 100 years ago, now get back to your cube snowflake.

Yep. Agents have been expecting a change for years. There’s not one single agent who will be surprised IF the compensation changes. And they almost all will take it in stride—either by reorganizing, retiring, or going off to do something else instead.

Your concern for agents financial well-being is heartwarming, here’s a news flash just for you sparky, most agents I know have had a plan B ( and C ) since the day they opened their agency doors and will be just fine. You on the other hand I’m sure struggle to find the cash to fill your car up two days before payday. Why don’t you just F off snowflake.

Allstate going down the toilet it’s just clog right now waiting on a buyout, but the fall off is extreme. Just a matter of time watch out for Amazon rolling into auto insurance market. Everyone will be stepping up there game or will be looking for a box to clean there cubicle out. Hope everyone put some cash away.

Agents have plan for the comp change coming for some time and FYI it’s the AA05 most put the AIPP for 20 years into 7% deferred comp, those that didn’t are going to say what happen or hopefully can be a sign guy on the road crew. Legs are going to hurt.
Bank Tellers, grocery store cashiers, travel agents gone, telephone operators not sure when they left, US Mail service gone soon, gas stations obsolete 5 years, underwriters all being replaced by AI.
Gotta keep yourself relevant going forward or you are going to be a MCD team member.

We should hire some cowboys to keep them in check.

Allstate? Nobody should be selling that dreck. They have Indians impersonating Americans making contact with their insureds, and others. This is the one insurance brand that needs to DEFINITELY go.

Allstate is being cleaned up to sold. Will SF roll out a new contract? Why bother, there are fewer agents on the old a34 by the day, the 97 contract is decent but not excessively lucrative. The a04/5 contract has been around nearly 20 years now (you read that right) and it is not significantly dissimilar than the new Allstate comp rates, in other words the a04/5 agents have been hurting for almost 20 years, why do you think the turnover rate is so fkkkin high there, no one and I mean no one is telling there kids to go into agency anymore. For the most part agents earn every penny they make and put there financial future on the line to do it. I personally know many many agents the a04/5 contract has destroyed, resulting in bankruptcy, divorce, total financial ruin. You all may want to do a tiny bit of research before demonstrating your ignorance by posting on topics you know nothing about.

Some of you mo--ns just love to think about agents going broke. But it’s much more likely to happen to you. Agency is about making your own decisions and taking care of your own house. Whining doesn’t get it done. You make it or not on your own merits…..but that’s already a given when you take the chance and open your doors.

Funny. Back I. The day not too long ago insurance companies had smart and great agency and home office connections and staff to handle issues, claims, complaints taken and billing and service

People mattered. Systems folks were not highly compensated and things were I. House. Had some issues but minimal and we co trolled the data and safety of policyholder info

Those days if real work are gone

I heard the same thing, all agent contracts are getting a 20% across the board increase in pay rate to compensate them for handling all the claim and underwriting tasks. Probably not enough but it is a start, I may upsize my beach house.

Underwriters did make less than claim reps before everyone was made the RA job classification. RC vs. RB. Must be a lot of new people if they don't remember that change a few years back.

What even is a customer facing role anymore? Appraisers and estimators (auto and fire) are being pressured to do virtual inspections. Lots being outsourced too.

Not even a good rumor. Just all the old comp rumors from years ago rolled into one-which immediately suggests it is nonsense. Hey I know a rumor Tipsord is fired by the board next meeting hahahaha……

If “customer facing” gets paid more, then agents should get a huge increase. They spend all their time talking to customers and trying to put a positive spin in this sh-t show.

This same speculation has been bandied about for 10-15 years. If it ever happens, it happens. But no amount of rumor on this site will make it so.
