In my opinion, the situation is critical, but if the management of this company does not care, I do not see much reason why it would bother me as well. I've been doing enough work for 3 people for months now and I don't want to anymore. I do not plan to stay here even until the end of August, let alone until the end of the year.

I would take BK over HV.
I hear there is openings at Burger King
I hope this gives some HV colleagues some hope.
Along with similar comments in other posts, we were working incredible hours at HV, burnt out, lack of management understanding and general managerial comprehension, and lastly management narcissistic tendencies. Prior to my being laid off, I had a discussion with my manager, if there were to be layoffs please consider me. Less than a month later the ax fell and half our team was let go. Not because of a lack of technical acumen and depth, but rather cost reduction with offshoring and potential acquisition capabilities. I received the layoff, received the severance, and took 3 months off enjoying time with the family and much-needed rest.
At the same time, I published my resume to various sources and committed to talking to every company and/or recruiter, and was offered multiple opportunities in the industrial space. I had a long and in-depth discussion with a CIO with a parent company that owned/operated numerous manufactures and they were already understanding their attrition due to what HV was culpable for. They understood the burn-out, current environment, and the complications with rebuilding teams(trust, comradery, depth). Bottom line, they built immediate trust being open, my compensation nearly doubled, and they put me into newer technologies that I was and am more than willing to learn.
Please know this, not all managers are horrendous at HV. My manager was solid. My manager fell flat near the end, but I don't put blame on that, it was a grind. My manager was also being targeted in all directions.
I definitely miss the technical team I was with and still communicate with them. That being said, most of the management was indeed much less than adequate. HV has many challenges they're not willing to face, at least as of yet.
All the best to the team I worked with and the teams I collaborated with that are currently employed at HV! It's a grind! That being said, words can't describe how much happier and motivated I am now.
Oh, I did not use friends and or references to find my current position.
All the best!
Got out without friends or family, brought in by former manager.
Everyone I know who got out, did it with friends/references. With that 1 month from what I hear.
