Removing degree requirements is an excuse to hire people with degrees and not pay them what they're worth.

Or a sign that turnover is too high, they’ll bring in a more desperate class of people who will think “wow I can’t possibly do any better than this without a degree”, and will accept the abusive working conditions and not leave
It’s also an excuse later to hire more people in India who have advanced degrees typically. They are making their bed carefully.
Considering college is a joke most of the time, I actually agree with that initiative...
