Thread regarding Ascension Health layoffs

Are there any arguments for staying here?

I found a new job within 3 weeks. Some tried to get me to stay because in their view nowhere was the grass much greener, but I decided to leave anyway.

I think there are no arguments to stay here unless you can’t find a new job. It seems that things can only get worse here. This is no longer the company I started working for.

Meant to say:
But my 2 cents is that Ascension took the breath out of the local, living, compassionate care

"Arguments for staying here", you ask?

Well, no, you probably won't find much on that on a website called "thelayoff.com" typically, right?

But my 2 cents is that Ascension breathed the local, living, compassionate care from each of the hospital ministries that was acquired through the years. I'm in I.T., and their stupid outsourcing contract with CSC (and their several other sub-contractors), made it clear to me that it didn't matter a hill of beans how much their employees cared about the organization they worked for...and that it was a numbers game. I am SO glad that the Ascension/CSC contract favored CSC (breach of contract). Even though I HATED CSC's policies, I hated Ascension for even considering that option. And buying back all of the hardware? Phew, would LOVE to know the price tag on that little gem.

This is a cyclical game, usually, but I want out. I don't care if or when it comes back in-house. Feels like an id--ts-running-the-asylum group now. No thanks.

There are people leaving for better jobs outside Ascension now. The real issue Ascension will likely face in the future is a loss of knowledge and experience. That is a challenge to rebuild once it is lost. Good luck Gerry and Eduardo, you will likely need a lot of luck in the future.

It is no longer the place to work for.
