Barnes & Noble Closing Down the once Most Successful Stores

The news is out that B&N is closing some of its biggest and most successful stores. Sales are not there and the company is just pulling the plug where it can. If your store is one of the ones having trouble with payroll, you too are in danger.

I have heard this from upper management conversations.

For other stores that still have leases to run out, corporate is looking for ways out. You may have read a couple of the stories like the Boston store posted below.
The future is pretty clear, we're on borrowed time and that clock is clicking down fast.

You still haven't said which stores. Fake news by someone trying to get attention.

This has been going on for years. Doubt it the New York Union Square flagship will ever close.

On a side note, I worked in corporate IT from the early 90’s until 2000 for them (in both Westbury and the main office in New York. Noticed Westbury still has IT positions.

The other IT employees in Westbury when I was there were the most nasty people (including staff and managers) that I ever worked with in a corporate setting. Most likely they’re all gone now (they were all Mainframe programmers and DBA’s)

Personally. I don’t care if they stay open or not. I don’t shop there. My family doesn’t shop there and neither do my friends. If people want to go there- let them go. Some people like to eat in a restaurant. Some like fast food.

The company still exists.
Move on in your lives.

After all this company has done , you’re still there ? Nobody else will hire you ? Or you have no ambition ?

Boston store is fine.

The Guardian is about as relevant as the National Enquirer.

Another good one is that they claim to "delay" new store openings. They're putting off a lot of new stores because there is no money and the company will be done soon.
