Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

I still don't believe the GF rumor, first reported by WSJ then echoed ad infinitum

I can't believe even the current top management could be that re--rded

I am honestly hoping the latest round of denials from GF is true

Pat simply can get the arrogance out of him.

Does he realize Intel is rotted out at the core in design, software, product, manufacturing, and process development.

He can talk big and try and fight on all fronts, but if your core is rot the outcome is clear, you will lose on all fronts.

Analogies to IBM are all over this pile of dung. At least IBM sold off businesses and tried to re-event for thirty years and might have actually turned the corner. They sold off storage, PCs, and silicon and still struggled.

Instead of focus on a few things Intel can win at Pat is chasing wins on every front and this will cost Intel dearly. Yeah he has a cash cow and will play to current silicon shortage and national security card for many billions, sadly money was never the problem it is culture and capability.

This will be an epic FUBAR

over ambitious could turn out to be a liability
it is either a good investment, which Intel rarely made in the past. Or total disaster which Intel is very good at
so, what's the verdict? Go to buy, spend all $20B and beyond. let see how fast it sink

It was the only smart thing out of Pat since he joined, oops it was an unfounded rumour that he wasn’t smart enough nor actually bold enough to do.

IDM2.0 amd Foundry who are you kidding, totally FUBAR, GF at least made sense, oops sorry a wet dream of Pat’s

I think the rumor was started by GF bag-holders in the Persian Gulf. The sheiks and emirs thought they were buying their own TSMC, but it turns out that they only bought… GF.

But maybe Pat got a charge out of seeing the (clueless) financial press gushing about how smart the move would be for Intel. Could be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

AMD’s big masterstroke these last few years was going fabless and spinning off the albatross, while Intel has been stuck in manufacturing he-l. Funny if Pat triples down by buying what AMD discarded.

Yeah proof mgmt r rtrdeded
There is a pending lawsuit with Intel for Systemic Age Discrimination during last layoff which included 16k employees world wide under Brian Krzanich.

Most people took the buyout, this ability should be legally taken from Intel.
Intel only learns from lawsuits and bad publicity. It never prevents itself from doing the wrong thing, but encourages scraping under the rug.

Rumors? It's obvious they have sub normal IQ. My experience there matches this proof here:

By definition, rumors are not to be believed. It could be they started the contact regarding Intel/GF, and news outlets reported it (it is not that ludicrous anyway considering IDF2.0). At the minimum, testing the water and getting the reaction, ...
