How much more do you make after leaving Intel?

If you have any skill you can make much more elsewhere but you’ll have to work. If you are accustomed to delivering only excuses on one canceled project after the next while working with your wife then stay put, you’ve got it great!

I’m hearing what Intel is offering former employees to return… actual hard data with numbers. 50% more base and 5x the RSU vs what I made when I left two years ago. After being consistently given the standard 2% and told I’m being paid at the top of my grade by my clueless micromanager, its painfully obvious how full of bu-----t my management was.

These RSU CTR bonuses are not going to be enough to retain the talent they need. When current employees find out how much the rehires in their same grade are making, and how much more they can get elsewhere by leaving, they’ll leave if they’re smart. And many already are.

You don’t advance in your compensation by staying put, and nowhere is that more true than Intel.

How much more work do you do to get paid more in a different company? If the same amount of work in a new company, you were underpaid in the old place. If you work much harder to get paid more, then nothing uncommon. Long time ago a guy left for a company with higher pay. He was a capable engineer but returned because he could not work that very long hours in the new place.

Left Intel w $135k base in AZ; w bonus, took home $190k. Next gig was $165k base, took home about $205k that year with bonuses. Current gig, base is $200k with no bonuses but am a partner. Next year I expect my take home to be $650k - $1m, depending on growth. Thank you for the shove out the door, Intel.

30% more when I moved from INTC to a fare less stressful job with a major supplier in the industry. Considering the 24/7 "on call" availability and endless workdays in INTC my actual earnings per hour probably almost doubled.

make more outside Intel, doesn't matter I'm happy or not
because the ++ could compensate the happiness, regardless of whether happy or not

Went from 100k Total Comp to 250k at AMZN a few years ago. Grade 5 at Intel, but from a top 4 CS school. Now making Grade 10+ salary after AMZN stock appreciation. Thanks Intel for laying off my group!

Base, almost 2x. Left to a company Intel uses to "market" its fair pay claim to employees. Stock grant was even higher initially and during reviews. Serious life changing money for anyone. If you feel stuck, family, mortgage, kids, all the above... companies offer relocation and move assistance to work through all of that.

From 200 TC to 450 TC.
But 100k in that 450 was due stock appreciation after the offer. So 350k might be a more fair comparison. WLB is actually improved.
