Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Funny business in the numbers

This info is from Salary.com. There may be errors, but does anything stand out to you on this info? Mr. Wilson seems to have lowered the gap in the pay ratio. Yeah, by doubling the average employee salary? What area might that be in?

Year CEO Pay Median Employee Pay CEO Pay Ratio
2017 $18,757,329 $81,573 230:1
2018 $18,687,246 $72,363 258:1
2019 $19,615,696 $61,860 317:1
2020 $21,126,386 $102,184 207:1

They cook the numbers every chance they get. Their quarterly numbers are just made up BS and highly manipulated. They lie to the shareholders, investors, agents, employees, media, policy holders, and the general public. This company is in a lot worse shape than they tell us.

Just an educated guess, but employee salary for 2020 likely included, severance payouts, stock options exercised for those that were leaving, etc, etc. next years spread may look much different. It’s all how the numbers are calculated.

Btw, Looks like Wilson’s comp plan is based around shrinkage not growth. Allstate had negative auto mkt share growth last year as well. They were one of two in the the top nine that was able to pull off that feat.

I was with this company 4.5 years and only received minimal cent raises for having expected goals..

I work for a competitor now and make much more.
