So much more could be accomplished if only management was smart enough to promote those who actually perform the work. Too many “friends” are promoted whose only talent is making the round of their mentors and other worthless coworkers. Biggest problem is that in many cases they have forced out the only people who know how to perform the actual work. Supervisors only micro-manage the results to see that things get done; it matters not whether the results are correct. ConocoPhillips is on a death spiral but management is not smart enough to know they are doomed. Plan to sell my remaining stock ASAP and never look back.
