Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

Where is this company headed?

Unfortunately, I absolutely do not believe that the leaders of this company have any vision and plan for Schlumberger. The strategic direction is rather vague and it looks like those at the top have completely lost their compass. Companies that lack a clear direction one should not work for, but run away from them as soon as possible.

Meanwhile employing super low cost contract staff,
Firing to make a quarter results
Buy a company for revenue number
Sell a company to make cash flow
Borrow to pay dividends

I wonder how much all the above cost?
However it kept the board and friends in fat over paid jobs.

Correct, SLB is trying to make a business out of "managing " the entire industry. The check box approach to doing business and patting one another on the back never made SLB the best, only the biggest. It is doubtful they will ever be able to offer a rewarding career unless you are HSE or HR.

It’s an interesting question. There seems to be a lot of digital platform, digital, new energy, etc. mumbo-jumbo and not much in the way of getting oil below the ground above the ground. I don’t think it matters from a job perspective- work, get paid, go home, repeat. Same as most any company.

From an investment perspective SLB is all over the map, maybe time to dump and go heavier on tech stocks. My patience isn’t as long as this stock and it’s going nowhere lately. Might just be me.
