Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

What world do we live in?

I saw in the Houston Chronicle that Jay Brown is one of the highest paid executives in Houston - number 6. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/texas-inc/article/conoco-phillips-ceo-highest-paid-execs-houston-16303647.php

I think it is odd that Jay makes it to the salary he is at today while we are posting about Crown on this website which centers around layoffs.

Remember when Crown Castle was the best place to work because there was a strong culture of leadership, backed by companionate leaders who put employees first, who then put customers and the network first? Yeah, that was under a different CEO, hopefully you got to experience that. The current ELT doesn't share that view. Good luck if you still work there, get out before the ELT does another layoff.

That's essentially the world we live in, the rich get richer off of stock prices rather than income and the politicians and the media argue about income taxes like that are will impact anyone other than the middle class. We're in a pretty bad place overall.

Its also interesting to point out how stingy Crown has become with OT based on my own experience and conversations with co-workers on other teams & groups. I say this in that you probably don't see the nickel & dime, penny-pinching oversite at the executive level. Just my two cents, which Crown will probably want back!

It makes me sick to see how much Brown is making while many of my former co-workers were downsized, most of them found work but a few are struggling. You are correct, ALL CEO'S are overcompensated!

Well, it's even more interesting when you factor in that the entire EMT is heavily incentivized through STOCK. Guess it's simply a case of the rich getting richer. And people can say that he earned it, the stock has risen significantly under his tenure, but I think we can all agree that many, if not all CEO's, are overcompensated.
