Well it seems the founders want out. Do they want money (as much as they can get) or someone who promises to continue the culture? And if the latter how do they ensure it happens.

Broadcom (not the current company but the one that was bought by AVGO) founders wanted their money, and they got it. One of them stayed on board, but not sure how much influence he had or wanted over culture.

HP back in the day had Bill & Dave and Culture, but once they died it was Carly and Hurd, and bad management and aqusitions follwed by breakup and selloff.

You can hope for more of the same,, but it is unlikely. I guess Broadcom was offering most people the chance of a good payoff based on comments here. But it may just be a slow death and M&Ms.

Don't believe it yet, standard AVGO M&A tactics. The did the same with SYMC but then only bought the enterprise side and consumer was separated as Nortonlifelock.
