Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

Severance-related question

I haven't heard anything about more layoffs, so this is not about that. I'm just trying to plan ahead just in case and I'd like to know how things work. Have there been any changes to severance in the last year or so? How long does it take to receive severance? Is it paid in full or in installments?

My understanding is that while you are in the market place you are doing two things.

  1. ) looking for a job in State Street
  2. ) working as a pseudo contractor for a team who has a business need/deficit while looking for a permanent role.

I know someone who got into the MP in April, started looking outside the same day and got a job and double dipped for like 2 weeks. She claimed to have intentionally bombed interviews with state street to help her get out the door. Might be harder to do now with covid coming to an end but worth a shot.

Can you request to be put into TM, then accept an offer outside but still collect the severance at the end of 30/90 days? like how would HR know you start somewhere else?

Severance is paid in installments

After your final day you should receive your severance either weekly or biweekly
