Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

What does the increased hiring mean for those who were laid off?

Does that mean that people who were cut can apply for any open positions or is that not a possibility? Especially those who were laid off more recently and received severance? A friend and former coworker mentioned he'd like to try and apply (don't ask me why, I personally think he's crazy for wanting back into this mess) but I'm not sure he'll be given a chance. Any info would be great!

There is no increased hiring, there are thousands of open jobs but no one is being hired to fill them. And If they do they will hire fresh young kids that only have college and no real life experience. Yes the pay will be a lot cheaper, but the output from them will be way less too.

A good company would have a defined career path for current employee's and offer to train them, this way they wouldn't need to learn new company processes and would learn new tech.

you friend will find it extremely difficult to get re-hired if they were WFR'd and given a package (if it was less than 12 months ago then no chance).

I heard that the majority of the growth in roles was offshore sites like India and Manilla
