Thread regarding Cenovus Energy layoffs

Another SVP

Seriously, is it necessary another SVP for Downstream? I guess, the EVP has no clue about Downstream.

There's always room for another executive, just not five contributing workers under them.

Seriously? How many senior executives does a company this size need? The org chart is outta control. We're not Exxon. No wonder our share price sucks so much.

Appears she's moved around a bit Shell --> Suncor --> Syncrude --> Cenovus

It’s why we will never be a low cost operator. Losers keep getting promoted and we pile on the mgmt. they reward themselves and their friends. The rest of us well, it’s really difficult decisions you know and we don’t take these things lightly, and we will treat people with fairness and respect blah blah blah. All Cenovus mgmt knows is to promote themselves and ditch employees. Fun times here.

I’ve seen this after several rounds of layoffs… first thing they do is hire new VP’s and add to their HR ranks. It’s all this feeble management team knows how to do.

The entire SVP title/layer is a joke.

Ha! I just saw that too. Also, how is it that a Cenovus EVP has such an incomplete LinkedIn profile? Why would you want to draw attention to your lazy profile by making announcements from it?
