Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Management is selectively blind or what?

It's like this: I worked more than necessary, I did my best and I don't regret it because I love my job. At the same time, a more privileged colleague has perfected the technique of how to do nothing but look like he is breaking down from work. Management hasn’t noticed this for months, but it was immediately noticed when I too decided to work the bare minimum.

It's a top down problem. Lead by example:

  1. ) Run a company into the ground
  2. ) Merge with another failed company
  3. ) Give yourself and 151 other bonuses
  4. ) SOFTWARE POWERHOUSE
  5. ) ???
  6. ) Profit

Sort of like how I found out today that one of my OSP engineers was overlooked for a position in the new ILEC OSP expansion team. A different team member was also overlooked. Instead, the position was given to a guy with substantially less experience -- so much so that the other guys they bypassed are expected to help train him.

F dat.

Who cares. Leave and go somewhere you are appreciated. How many times do they have to slap you in the face for you to see who they are?
