Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

Dealing with disappointment?

I was hoping for improvements, until I recently realized that ever since I started working here, I’ve been constantly hoping for better, but the reality is that the company is sinking at a rapid pace. Now I see that I have just wasted my time here. In addition, I was much disappointed, because I believed that this company could do more and better.

But that’s just it though. With all the government money for faster internet speeds, we could have got that & basically rebuilt our plants for the 21st century & beyond. After all, every communications company started from nothing. It’s just the fact that our “dear leader greed Storey” didn’t want that. A customer paying 50-100.00 a month isn’t worth his time……doesn’t matter if we have 90 customers in 1 sub paying that, he doesn’t want it. This is all on him & the executives. They f’d up on purpose.
His hate for CenturyLink because of the L3 buyout is astounding. He’s getting even with us for something we had no hand in doing.
This dude will send a contractor from 3 hours away to run a fiber jumper 15 feet as opposed to just letting a CenturyLink CO tech that works in the same office all day run it.
He hates me, he hates you & he hates Centurylink & we will now pay for that.

Don't look @ it as a waste of time. You've learned valuable lessons. The stress here is unbearable and I'm glad I took a package. Occasionally, like now, I look back to see if things have improved. Obviously they haven't. I'm still figuring out what I want to do long term but it's good to be gone from all the toxicity. Like the post above it is taking time to realize that every job is not full of horrible people and demeaning experiences. Good luck in finding your better path.
