I left 3 years and 3 weeks ago with a RIF. It's was the worst 11 years of my life at Embarq/Centurylink. I was treated unfairly. But today I'm kicking a-s. I'm doing well. I took a year off. I had to. I was on the brink on dying from stress from Embarq/Centurylink. It took almost 3 years just to trust other people. I want everyone to know that the money isn't worth it. There are nice bosses, executives, and other coworkers outside that place. I'm glad! I'm gone!, and I'm sure the cr---y lazy back stabbing ex coworkers,, and cr---y bosses mans @$$ hats are glad I'm gone too.

I work there 40 years constantly got worse less people more stress.
Two sides to every coin:-)
I spent almost 10 years here FWIW .I am not one of those claiming the worst place it Made my life in central Fla more than palpable . I was, and felt important in my community. until it slid a bit ,and then I simply left when i no longer agreed with things Personally i could no longer lie to my customers (Friends Neighbors) ...was a great place to work when i started here. i was accepted in a VERY rural CO and was able to meld right in . it put food on the table toys in the garage kids in school all of the old trapings of the "Telephone Company"----now your simply an "IT" providing entertainment and not nearly as well as the other trained monkeys? dont knock the place that put a lot of things in your lives yes its changed....no its no longer what it was? just remember it fondly and move on life marches on
I spent 35+ years in telecom one side of the fence or the other. NEVER had the "stress" gotten the better of me? This job IS Stress all day every day ? You think its bad? Try the "other" side of the house.... Interconnect Biz systems, late night cut-overs, holiday cut-overs systems down blah blah blah point being if your unable to eat breathe and sleep "stress" pressure etc. your working in the wrong industry
The two constants in the biz? Change and Stress
