I hesitated for almost a year. I worked here for a long time without any motivation and I knew I had to leave but I thought the situation elsewhere wasn't much better and that’s why I stayed here.
In the end, the breaking point was when the HV laid off my colleague who did not deserve it at all, who was certainly one of the best employees. Now I regret hesitating for so long.

3x TC is very impressive. Care to share what wast your TC b4 you left? You must be very well compensated in HV and likely a management role.
I am based in the bay area and got out in Jan. Comp has gone up > 3x since I left and at a company where people don't hate their jobs and leadership is not incompetent.
Congrats to everyone who got out. Out of curiosity, who did it on their own? 100% of everyone I know who got an FTE job did so with strong references

The smoke signs were visible in 2014 itself, i told my colleagues that the company will struggle in a few years. They said i was pessimistic and perhaps did not see the presentations they made at leadership meetings.
It took me two years to realize that i was over paid at HDS, or that my skills couldn't fetch similar salary outside. I of course did not wish to do storage or VMware but wanted exposure to cloud. Finally got myself a job in 2016 with a cloud MSP for lesser remuneration.
I'm still unhappy that it took me 2 years to make the switch from the time i was convinced that BS1 and BS2 will sink the company.
