Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Where in Allstate is it not a nightmare?

And some of us actually like our jobs. Not every area of Allstate is a nightmare.

I would not agree with someone who wrote this. I love my job too, but I started to despise it in this company. I wouldn’t say there are such “areas” that aren’t a nightmare. Perhaps only slightly less "nightmarish" than somewhere else.

My comment was just meant to say that as usual, Allstate management refuses to allow decent tools for us to use, making difficult jobs much more so. I assure you that all of my venom is directed at upper management, they are the source of every major crisis we are in the middle of and they refuse to actually fix anything. I respect all of the workers who actually do things day to day, vs the lame transformative goons who have us on short leashes. I don’t know if I have even a shred of respect for any decision they make now, I think they’ve lost me for good.

@1gdl+1bGNBxHU I don't work on your software, that's all outsourced. But if you want to blame someone for it being terrible, you can blame Allstate's security team for crippling the software you have to use by not allowing the use of modern tooling, resulting in the constant hack/work around to meet delivery dates. Tell them to suffer with you.

No offense, but our software sucks, you guys need to work harder and suffer with us more so that we suffer less with decent tools to work with. Just a thought.
