I can understand hating Allstate. I really can. But what I can't understand is why in the world does it bother some of you so much that some of us do not share that feeling. Allstate is far from perfect, but most of my years here have been good. Yes, layoffs are a huge issue but for me, that doesn't automatically negate everything positive that happened to me since I started working here. How does that make me a bad guy?

Because it’s like watching a fish swim around in a tiny filthy aquarium. The ocean exists, but fish doesn’t know anything different than the aquarium he’s been in for as long as he can remember. The fish will live and die in the aquarium, when on the other side of the glass, just a few hundred feet outside of the building he’s trapped in, there are tons of other fish swimming around in the ocean with a much better quality of life than the aquarium fish will never know.
You’re not fish. You’re people. The fact that you have the ability and the intelligence to leave a bad situation when you deserve better, but for some reason just won’t do it, makes it even sadder than the story of the fish.
Claims adjusters deal
With the public and are the people that external customers see and deal with . Policyholders who have a negative experience such as poor customer service due to delays due to short staffing , overworked employees and low morale like what’s currently happening can result in them taking their business elsewhere and claimants who suffered a loss due to the negligence of our insureds with a bad experience for the same reasons from Allstate will be hesitant in the future to come to Allstate . Claims department is the face of this organization. If claims goes down it affects business. This used to be a smoothly run department. I’m our weekly huddles it’s filled with bad surveys from customers and agents complaining about the delays , frustration from customers .
Law and Reg is also not a good department to work in. Maybe others are better. Not law and Reg.
95% of people on here are from claims. I always try to tell people that every department isn't the same. There are some good departments to work in
I think what is troublesome is that you see what happens to others, know that it’s bad (laying off 3,809 people in the middle of a pandemic, a terrible job market then, for no real economic reason) and that doesn’t bother you enough to negate other things. It’s like they say, first they came for my neighbor, so it wasn’t me and I was ok. Then they came for me. I you shouldn’t sit by and work for a company that does this to others just because it’s been ok for you.
Self hate and loathing, narcissism, narrow-minded myopia, is why it bothers some, the other half don't even work at Allstate.
