Thread regarding Ameren Corp. layoffs

Most are looking to get out

Everyone is being told that the new level of work required is the new normal, so of course people are leaving. People are working a lot of overtime, unpaid in many positions, and there’s no longer work life balance. It’s become a sweatshop where employees are paid less and worked to death. Most of us are looking to get out.

I've noticed that minorities get preferential treatment too. It doesn't really matter if the person is competent enough or experienced in what they're made responsible for. Just be a minority. And yes, workers over the age of 50 are getting mistreated.

Ameren talks a good game, but if your not in a union or a minority you will have a hard time especially as you get older. When Ameren was Union Electric it used to consider employees family, but HR has ruled the company for the last 20 years.
