I am retired from T and I went to the dentist and AON covered all but $10 . AON tried to tell me that protective gear like gloves and mask on the bill is not a covered medical expense . So when I told them how my HRA account works and it was covered ........... they sent me to their denied claim department .

Actually, with Covid, the PPE code was added to a list of approved cpt codes. Insurance companies can choose to pay or not pay treatment codes. AON is more of a bank and not an insurance company. It is not up to them to deny any dental, medical, vision or health related bill.
The issue that I see is that AON hires a lot of minority women for little pay, little knowledge and with a huge chip on their shoulders. We are the victim of getting what AON hires for $7.50 per hour...
A dentist's PPE should not be an additional charge to the patient. AON administers the HRA for qualified medical expenses. Since the HRA is regulated, my bet is there is some list on a govmt site with allowed items.
So if a Dentist or MD itemized the bill as say:
- Skill, Knowledge, Training, Procedure, Necessity = $100.00
- Use of Chair, Office, Staff, Paperwork, Utilities = $200.00
- Sterilization of Instruments = $100.00
- Profit Margin = $100.00
- Rent, taxes, = $1000.00
- Protective Gear = $10.00
Then AON is telling you that they will only pay #1 above?
Hey the bill is a total of all factors - they should have just charged you $X-X.xx period.
They AON would not have made these phoney payment decisions up to cheat you.
Besides, I thought all you had to do was Present the Bill. Don't get it!
Why is AON acting like it's THEIR MONEY? Is Stankey directing this? Is Stankey planning
to reclaim unused money? I bet the answer is YES!

Never trust AON, they are experts at ripping you off. It just makes me sick.
