Thread regarding Ford layoffs

What do you expect in the coming period?

I am expecting another reorg soon, more hiring outside the US, and more errors down the line. Ford's is putting a lot of eggs in the BEV basket, instead of fixing what is broken inside the company.

This is so well said, yes, the big problem is that Ford puts all the eggs in one basket and I don't expect anything very positive in the coming period.

Well said! The company needs to focus on quality instead of cost savings. There is a point when cost savings crosses a line and impacts quality and it appears we have crossed that line. Recalls and warranty issues are costly and in time any cost savings that may have been realized are consumed by quality issues and lost customers. Very few companies have cut their way to success. Upper management also needs to look at cost at the corporate level instead of the organization level. If one org cuts costs by 20 million and their cuts cost another org 40 million the corporate bottom line is increased cost.

This company needs to focus on just one thing above all else: fix the quality. Way too much warranty claims. Way too many recalls. Way too many TSBs.
Put a pause on the cost saves for a bit and focus on fixing the product. Customers will go elsewhere otherwise.

I expect at least 2-3 waves of reductions to come. There still seems to be more focus on Cost savings vs. Quality. But senior management seems to forget that. As for the future until this company can launch vehicles with a good reputation for reliability and most of all Ford needs some of the other product lines to step up an make money. You cannot survive on F-Series alone. The guys who introduced the F-150 originally are long gone. About time these high paid arrogant VPs, Directors, and Mangers are held accountable for their decisions. The worker Bee's are looking for leadership with a Vision and a plan everyone can understand. Sorry but that is lacking right now.

Well, we are no longer the leader in truck sales, it’s all downhill from here.
