Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Newbies setting new records

It has happened before, that new people come here and stay very short. Lately, however, this has gone up a whole new level. People who come here do not stay even a week in this company.
Literally, new records are constantly being set for how short someone has stayed here.
What is this? Is it possible that these are just frivolous individuals or did those people really think that the job here was much easier?

As others have said, training in clubs has become very low priority so newbies probably feel uneasy about their performance.
I would pair this with little feedback from TL/Managers and honestly, our company is bi-polar, partially due to executives not being on the same page and partially due to the ever changing climate that societal pressure is pushing on all companies.

I would be lying to say there are external factors as well, high unemployment rates in low cost cities tend to be due to government subsidies that only require you look for a job. Where I'm at, if you get a job, work at least one day, you can reapply for unemployment and receive it for several months, then they follow that cycle.

Besides filthy gross bathrooms, there is nothing worse than gross cafe areas...the soda area, the condiment area, the sticky tables and floor and fly ridden trash cans. One can find all this at their local Sam's Club. Team leads and managers do have time to take care of these issues...they simply choose not to. What is it exactly that they do? Most team leads are worthless and managers sit behind closed doors most of the day. I'm sorry you had no help...but this is how things are handled there...team leads and management stand back and watch to supposedly help run things smoothly and they do NOTHING but order co-workers around as if it mattered and stand back and watch. If they only knew how ridiculous they look! This is how Sam's and Walmart operate now...and have for the last 7 or 8 years!

I was hired into the cafe a couple months ago. Yesterday, I was the only one working from twelve thirty to nine. I'm seriously. NO help. Someone came to do my lunch. Count my lucky stars. Members angry that the lids, condiments were out. So I stopped waiting on people and go out to stock the condiments, lids etc. And members were angry because I was out there. Stopped waiting on people to do temperature checks, the slow handheld didn't help move things along. Trash cans spilling over onto the floor, in the dining area and back in my area - cause no one came to empty them. It's not like I can empty trash. Closed at 7, did dishes for an hour and a half. Why, you ask? Because the first lady didn't do a single dish. Whatever. Teams leads standing in front watching, but it's not their area, so they just stood there. I was so angry, all day. Beyond anger. I hate this job.

That's what happens when you do away with Human Resources......Sam's Club made a huge mistake ,teamleads and managers do not have time for these associates but PTC's always did...

No one like to get thrown into a job not trained. I too thought Sam’s would be a great place to work. After 7 year i left two weeks ago. Sam’s was not bad to begin but it kept getting worse. Can’t imagine how the new people feel. Sad.

I think they leave for two reasons:

  1. They get treated badly by other associates from the get go
  2. They are not trained properly
