Keep ignoring the problem AP and let’s see how your strategy plays out.

Our peers are laughing as they poach our good marketable people.

@2ops+1bBbe4nz Do you actually believe the surveys? Its funny how we have never had a bad survey result even after 6 years if constant layoffs. I don't believe them for one minute. I have known lots of people who wrote in huge concerns in the comment section but they were not shown in the reviews. I have also watched people over the years get identified by what they said. They are manipulating the results don't be fooled.

I wonder how many of these posts are actually real. I kind of hope they are as our mgmt eats brown smelly turds. But after that survey where folks said everything is great I don’t quite believe the folks on here. I hope I’m wrong. I would leave if I had an equivalent job somewhere else. This merger is horrible.

The Exec team and the Board took a huge gamble.
They thought they could do this merger, including mass layoffs, not pay any retention bonus to key staff, and double your workload, as there were no jobs out there during Covid.
Remember: “your lucky to have a job”
Big mistake!!!

Every week I learn of more good people who have left. It’s just getting started unfortunately.

I am a ten year employee and I resigned last week from my operations role. Two other senior people I respect have resigned in the past week, large severance payouts are not worth suffering and burning out for. Mergers are always tough but with a third of layoffs to come it is demoralizing to see HR posting to hire 6 new roles this week while we continue to downsize.

Cenovus is currently the most exposed Calgary company for the ‘Great Resignation’.

Look at the facts:

  • Energy Sector is starting another bo-m cycle with oil prices climbing,
  • jobs are opening up as a result,
  • we have the worst cubicles downtown and they are asking us to return in September (I won’t),
  • they just did another round of layoffs (again) so loyalty doesn't exist anymore
  • merger has everyone fighting and workload has increased to an insane level for most,
  • - no retention bonus or incentive like LTI (last years grant is easily matchable by hiring peers)
  • senior people including managers are leaving,
  • two cultures that are polar opposite to merge.

Cenovus has been caught with its pants down.

What are you all talking about? Mrs Bangs says we are all going in the right direction. Are you questioning our executive? Be gone all of you and a pox on your houses.

Hey I just signed an offer yesterday too! Lol it is for more money and a promotion. Funny how everyone I see leaving are going to better jobs. I will be sending emails to take some good people with me.

Lol pruning more like hand out severances when the wind changes direction , don't kid yourself they don't have a clue where they're going or how they are getting there

Cenovus is actually exceptionally gifted in pruning out their dead weight.

Just got an offer letter today. I hate to leave the good people I work with, but I have no choice. I need to tell my supervisor on Monday or Tuesday next week.

This company will work us to the ground and then lay us off again and again.

Goodbye all and good luck

The strategy is playing out as it should. CVE has proven time and time again that it does not deserve good people/employees.
