Or, why do some say that Allstate is just taking advantage of the situation and the job market being so bad, while others say that the situation is not nearly as bad and that they have received multiple offers so far? Who are these people from Allstate for whom the jobs are falling from the sky?
I'm trying to retrain and gain new skills, since I haven't been able to find a job for 3 months now. I am stuck in this ridiculous company. Another option is to move, which is not possible for me at the moment.

Unless you are completely incompetent, jobs are falling from the sky everywhere. Literally everywhere!!
Labor shortage = what happens when you pay people to stay home.
Job market isn't bad .. there is a country wide labor shortage.
