Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Unrealistic goals?

I work as a sales associate here and I think I’m on the verge of quitting. The demands of the manager are not realistic. I worked at other companies, but nowhere was I expected to do so much as in Macy's. The whole situation makes me feel worthless for not being able to meet all these expectations, but on the other hand, deep down I know they are very unrealistic.

We have so many people quitting since our region merged with the region out of Chicago. We are on our second store manager in less than 9 months since the new leadership took over. Company sets goals, then the regional team makes them harder, then the DVP makes them even harder. It's like working for a different company every time you switch regions or divisions. As a red badge, we are just pushing like we are being pushed, we try to keep the pressure down as much as possible but we have families and bills to pay to and the new Macy's doesn't care about anything but making goals. Yes, it's retail, but for what the company pays too many hourly folks are finding that there are other similar jobs at retailers and fast food places that pay more and have more reasonable expectations. Lots of jobs out there right now, if your leadership isn't treating you well, it might be time to explore other options.

They are crazy. They expect you to open 100 credits, always smile and assist customers, clean the fitting room, run the fitting room rod, keep your area recovered and maybe even add a fulfillment or bops here and there and keep your register clean. Did I miss anything?
