After being impacted by Allstate's unnecessary layoffs in September 2020 I started a comparable job at Progressive. While pay was just a tad better and benefits I found to be actually worse than Allstate the environment and culture was just as toxic and unbearable. So much so that after discussing with hubby I am putting in my notice today. A friend who was also impacted worked at State Farm for about 5 months before recently quitting due to poor treatment and poor environment. It seems that all insurance is the same mess. Sugar coated pile of cr-p. I would recommend just leaving insurance altogether. They are all pretty much the same and not much different.

Allstate claims: home to the most overworked AND underpaid adjusters in the industry
I have worked claims at Allstate, Geico, and Progressive. All just as toxic and bad imo.
Prog sucks too, just not as bad. They used to dump 3 claims in me 30 minutes before my shift ending regularly and you better make that 2 hour callback! Culture is similar to Allstate, lots of sketchy managers and metrics. If you do get a job there they always pick a “chosen one” among new hires to get promotions, raises, training. If you’re not the chosen one it’s difficult to move up. Try to make friends and brown nose management fast, otherwise you will be a dumping ground for cr-p claims
Nice try Tom
I’m mot sure what progressive you’re working for but I switched. Benefits ARE better. Unless you think a 600 dollar deductive at progressive is somehow worse than the 1500 at Allstate. Also the environment is amazing. Much more positive and customers are even more pleasant because progressive has the customer in mind unlike Allstate. I worked at Allstate for 9 years and this post is some bu-----t
If you have the opportunity of interview with Nationwide, I encourage you to do so. After being at Allstate for 20+ years, I have been with Nationwide for 5+ years. I can only speak to my experience, but working for a mutual like Nationwide is refreshing. Maybe it is a senior management philosophy that is NOT driven by a stock price and quarterly stockholder report, but rather a plan for long term success and support of it's employees.
Can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen!
Cool story gramps. Corporate America? North, Central or South? How's corporate India?
You people ...
Not sure what your role is but I have heard the exact opposite from a friend that went over there...
Corporate trying to scare people into not leaving again I see
It's corporate America.....don't expect to be treated well.
