So much disrespect and demeaning of employees...how is this considered okay?

It's ok because employees tolerate it. Or more specifically, high performers tolerate it.
If more of them voted with their feet the company would have to change.
Who / what country do you work for ? I agree upper level management treats us like po-p. But my Direct Functional managers (and there are many of them) and my people manager are pretty good
Everybody in management should be ashamed of themselves.
