$1M to move and install it, probably $100k to cut it down after completing several JSA...money well spent!

@aNtqu+1b7IR2Fo has a good question.
Does anyone know the population of the Campus now?
How many employees and how many contractors?
I'm not on campus but all these stories are kind of bizarre. So with the neighborhood initiatives, is the vision to cramp more people into less pace/building, so we can cut back on the lease/cost or what? And are we at 100% with everyone back to the office? How can we be so empty from 10 buildings down to 3-5? Did we really cut back 50% people on campus?
@aMbow+1b7IR2Fo
Everyone currently at EMHC will not fit in 3 buildings. But to your point, it'll decrease over time and the remaining may fit in 5 buildings. Regardless, the entire facility will be sold and buildings leased back based on need. All food service, etc will be the responsibility of the new owner so that should reduce what's left of E&PS too. Winning!
@aMyqb+1b7IR2Fo Clearly you don't work at the campus. There are so few people here that we can fit them all in three buildings only. The other ten or so can be empty, really they are empty. But, you are right. The campus will be sold.
So here comes a plot twist to the Houston Campus. While XOM will occupy 9 buildings… the entire campus will be sold to a real estate company who will then lease the 9 buildings back to XOM and also manage the other lessees. I have no inside info, but forecast it’ll come by the end of the year (2023).
Other examples of campus waste:
- kcups which were stolen and resold on eBay by the thousands
- the LED touch desk lamps which were also stolen by the thousands and resold
- the never ending resurfacing of campus trails with crushed granite after every rainstorm
- painting huge murals on the tops of the parking garage (what does it look like now with the garage expansion completed?)
- the stupid modern looking but nonfunctional chairs around campus (there is even a yammer group for posting photos of this cr-p)
- the Christmas ornaments which with the pace of going woke we are experiencing will never be used again anyways
Trying really hard to get out of the Woods, eh?
Guys, we have real shortage of lumber because of COVID, that's why Darren decided to cut that tree so he could make a desk out of it. And a book case. Good job Mr. Woods!
We found the re--rd in the group. Also called the campus id--t by their knowledgeable others and peers.
Yes, please compare exxon to a cut-rate retail establishment. You probably think Biden won.
The tree was PIPed because it was only seen and not heard during its power walks! Remember people! You must be heard also! Ask everyone you meet during your power walks if you can help with anything and how things are going!
@1qey+1b7IR2Fo with all the nutrients from employees pi---d, perhaps we might revive our tree. Darren will rise from the ashes of it, like a pink flamingo.
Have a good day!
Talk about a sign of things to come. Oh well, nothing lasts forever. Blockbuster Videos, Sears, Toys R Us, were all great companies once.
@1lmg+1b7IR2Fo
So you are saying while people are losing their jobs EM wasting a fortune for someone to babysit a fn tree? This sounds like the same EM bs that got us here.
Ignorance at its finest.
Can you sit on the stump? What kind of question is that? Honey, you’ve been sitting on the “stump” for a long time and probably didn’t realize that you weren’t enjoying it….until now. LMAO!
You can not transplant a tree of that size, age, stature and expect it to live.
But our ExxonMobil arrogance thinks we can overcome even Mother Nature, because are Executives are the best and the brightest. Told you so.
Does this mean the tree failed it's PIP?
From the get go, I thought what a waste of money. I was right.
Enjoy the new shaded area campus dwellers.
They should place a plaque of Darren Woods on the ground of where that tree stood. We could go over on our ergo breaks and pi-s on it.
@1lmg+1b7IR2Fo E&PS should place a bronze statue of Darren in its place. The man will be so proud of himself.
The story of that tree is such an apt allegory for our whole company: A poor decision, poorly executed, leading to the decay of a once grand living thing.
What a perfect analogy for Exxon. Rotted from the inside and cut down. Timber.... down goes the tree and company.
Shumard Oak Tree update
For your awareness, E&PS has removed the large Shumard Oak tree located in the center of the Commons area over Memorial Day Weekend. We have been monitoring the health of the tree for several years. A recent arborist evaluation determined that the tree has significant interior deterioration despite an outer appearance of some leaf growth. The tree was hit by lightning several years ago which further advanced the tree decay. The decision has been made to remove the tree to ensure a continued safe outdoor environment on Campus.
E&PS recognized the tree was an important feature of the Campus and has redesigned the space to provide a unique shaded area for residents to enjoy. Please feel free to come explore the new space.
Can we sit on the stump?
And right after the two “activist” got elected to the board 😆
The Shumard oak tree was removed. Confirmed in an email sent by E&PS over the weekend.
😬🙄
No way!
