PIPs on Tuesday?

I have heard rumors that PIPs will be communicated on Tuesday. Anyone else hear about it?

So many Texas people with the scanning and new rules down there.
Glad not to be there.

“avoid the lawsuit”

More like to prepare the defense for the lawsuits when the sword lops off all the RE heads again. The EEOC will enjoy this age discrimination review, EM has made it easy for them to see.

I got PIP’d today. I’m the guy in E&PS that approved cutting the Rex tree down.

“Can’t get fired if you don’t have a job,” says man pointing finger at temple, indicating bright idea.

Management will not be allowed to share the results until everything is set and done (early July). There seems to be a concern regarding last years communication flow and that people were able to guess who got PIPed by how long it took for some to get their feedbacks. This year all feedback (good or bad) will come at the same time in July. I wouldn’t expect to get anything before then… good luck 🍀

It's going to be another month since the PIP list needed to be approved by HR to avoid the discrimination lawsuit.

Non-PIPs will be informed first. If you don’t hear from your supervisor before this Friday, you can assume you are PIP.
There is strict confidentiality around this process. So most people don’t know this is coming.

Rank meetings in UIS and some O&G groups were completed the second and third week of May.

Bu-----t. It really depends when ranking is done and most won’t be done until 3W June. Don’t spread fake news!

I have heard similar rumors. If not Tuesday, PIPs will be communicated during the week.

It might depend on the group. There were new hire ranking sessions last Monday for some groups. I know for a fact my groups ranking sessions isn’t until mid-June.

Maybe things have changed, but supervisors are told not to leave their NI and NSI for last. Also, the PIP does not have to be drawn up at the time you are notified of NI/NSI. I intentionally delayed mine last year to buy my engineers as much time as possible. The NI/NSI are supposed to be mixed in as to not create the situation many here are talking about.

They certainly seem to have accelerated the process this year. I know last year we were still having rank sessions in late June. This has to be the number 1 reason I’m glad I was laid off. I absolutely despised those rank meetings.

Our sup told the team feedback would begin in early June. Last year for our team it started the third week of June into July. Those who were PIPed received their feedback last. Seems like they might be a little ahead of schedule this year.

Just be aware that the “we no longer have a role for you” can come at anytime since so many jobs are being moved overseas (right sourcing as it was once called). Or when you suddenly get moved to a rapid growing group that is actually a “holding” team. The team grows so quickly then half of the team gets PIP’d. It’s a set up through and through!! If you’ve been marked there’s no way for you to survive. Management repeatedly tell lies to cover their —- and the lies only grow bigger as you go up the chain. Don’t trust anyone and always have a plan B. Good luck to you all.

In 2018 when I was blind sided by PIP, it was in August.
Look for all your team members to have had "the discussion" and you be one of the last to get the bad news.
Put them through all the prep work to draw up the PIP by the lawyers, then tell them f off. I'm out of here.
Pip is a set up to fail. I've never seen such garbage on what I would have to do. Not do to try and keep my job. One was......all your work must be error free. Like all humans are perfect.
Good luck to everyone.

Signed....made it out alive with 40.5 years of HARD service.

PDS communication is in July

If done like last year they will be discussed/notified during the normal 1:1 PDS ranking feedback sessions. Those on the list will be blindsided by not having been told of any issues during the PDS cycle. Then your available options will be communicated along with the timeline to make a decision.
