"Concerns over AT&T’s executive bonuses came to a head at the company’s annual meeting in April when a majority of shareholders voted against the company’s remuneration report."

Sadly, doesnt mean anything. Shareholders narrowly voted against the executive compensation proposal by 51% to 49%, but this was an advisory vote and the board doesn't have to listen. Not that they listen to anything, anyways. They stated as much on the preliminary results announcement on 4/30.

The problem is, most of the shares are owned by the same bozos in charge destroying this place.

Stankey and Stephens each received $2m for pushing the deal. The attorney (forgot his name) who closed the deal for ATT got $5m. And now Stankey claims we need to go in a different direction. WTF is this all about!

Concerns over AT&T’s executive bonuses came to a head at the company’s annual meeting in April when a majority of shareholders voted against the company’s remuneration report.

“AT&T for a long time has had over-the-top compensation,” said David Yermack, a professor at the New York University Stern School of Business. “It is surprising that it took shareholders this long to get upset.”
