I was trying to fit in because it’s very hard to work in a company where you can’t fit into its corporate culture. Sometimes I even think that even those who look very happy here are just a little more skillful at acting than me because acting is the path to success at Allstate, right?
I even believe that those who are superstars here and are very comfortable in an atmosphere like this, are just waiting for a better opportunity to get out of here, even more so than I am.

Agreed. I don't see where my doing a job for expected monetary compensation obligates me to be burdened with their cliche corporate drivel. They can take their "Shared Purpose", "Inclusive Diversity", Transformative Growth", and "Allstate Ambassador" and shove it straight up their as--s. Just keep paying me and shut up!
Allstate is paying me to do a job that utilizes my skills at an expected level of quality. I have decided to sell my skills and services of a reasonable level of work for a price that I deemed warranted. We both agree to have a working relationship where we both conduct ourselves with a cooperative standard of professionalism. That is where our agreement ends.
I could care less about their culture, vision, and stand. I do not get paid for that and that aspect doesn't impress or affect me. Not interested in any of that. I will keep doing the work expected of me and they will keep paying me what I expect for my services rendered. Once one of those parts of the agreement is not fulfilled then that is where our mutual agreement ends. Cultural and vision are irrelevant to me in this arrangement. I shall not be bothered with it.
I work to make a living and pay bills. I could care less about fitting in. There is more to life than work
There is no "culture" at Allstate. Just corporate mumbo jumbo to try to keep the masses in line. There are three type of "leaders" at Allstate:
1) The Ivory Tower bullsh--ters (Tom, Glenn, Brandt, Parsons) and their immediate underlings that concoct the blue kool aid cr-p that they even know is cr-p. A facade that they think the rest of us are going to buy into and believe.
2) The directors, division managers, and front line leaders that know the Ivory Tower is full of sh-- and do the bare minimum of pushing the "culture" that they have to in order to keep they paychecks coming. They don't believe in this company in the slightest come across as the most fake and untrustworthy to the employee base.
3) The brainwashed walking Neanderthals that really think Allstate's culture is great. These weak minded fools believe Shapiro is God and can't get on their knees quick enough for him. These leaders are mentally ill and a lobotomy is too good for these lost causes. They themselves think their worth is much higher than it really is in the company. Tom, Glenn, and the gang pull their puppet strings all while laughing at them.
The environment at Allstate is toxic. It has been since they went to a stock company. Management is completely brainwashed since they bought into manipulative mind control of a particular management style. This happened in the 1990’s. It’s never been the same. It’s a “cult” -ure and really hard to deprogram followers once they buy in. Don’t buy in. Get out while there’s still time.
Not being able to fit in to that culture speaks well of you.
It's not you, it's them
