Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

New job postings

So the company has posted job openings for enhanced premise techs in areas that currently are in surplus of net-tech/broadband techs. How in the he-l is that not a contract violation?

"Does anyone know if this new enhanced Prem tech position will be on the same seniority list as broadband techs like broadband/net tech. If so, maybe there is some hope for whoever survived the layoff. If they have their own seniority list, broadband and net techs will probably be gone as soon as enough Prem techs are “trained” "

Well many of the Broadband techs unless they took the 25k from being a Network Tech and moved over do their T/S I will send it to Cable or move it to the C.O. Tech.

Trying to figure out who they move it to as a Prem Tech when they try to lay off all the Network Techs and Cable Techs and well Installation is all but gone now and all you have is CDT's that may know something about Prem Installations Power and Grounding. I guess the Contract out call outs for Premise Technicians.

Lawyer up? No way. Head straight to the Bar and celebrate being outta there. OMG best thing that ever happened to me. Have a real job now. No threat of losing job every day, decent outfit, decent pay, win win situation. Still have a nightmare every now and then I still work at that craphole.

Let’s just settle one thing. That place sucks and the people remaining will get burned out and leave! Let them outsource stupidity and rework over and over! That’s how d-mb the executives and CEO really are! Meanwhile, they collect stock and huge bonuses! So happy I left! Btw, they won’t execute as they don’t know how to execute! Sell your stock and watch that place sink like the Titanic!

Level Lumen Link reclassified my position as ' provisioning tech ' and declared it a surplus and laid me off. My actual position was Fiber optic broadband technician at National Networks. I could map circuits in some of the equipment but that was only to help the provisioning techs or during the initial install test and turn-up of new Nodes

Great! Another dead end job posting. Applicants beware as this company doesn’t care about you! They push talent away! So if you consider yourself talented don’t bother!

Your locals are against it. But the higher ups in the union don’t care. Those are still union jobs, so the union still gets their cut.
