After numerous opportunities to dismiss the head bully through the previous redundancy processes, finally......FINALLY, the end is in sight.

The managers at stonehouse have worked there for 100s of years. They can not possibly work anywhere else neither would any other company take them and also pay them for their presence.

Closing down end augyst. Some redundancies, a few staff may be moved. Management should be OK.

I heard a rumour that it is actually closing down and all the batteries will be going to China, apparently sometime in August SBT will shut down ? Anyone know if this is true ?

Wow...You just need to read the comments and see the reactions on this post to see what the general feeling is about the place, and rightfully so.
Looks like it could be a long thread, finally something decent to read on this site.

HR's only role is to protect and cuddle management. Anyone raising a valid complaint about staff members or management especially, in spite of all Schlumberger's protestations about 'blue care', is sidelined, shunned, moved or has their employment terminated. SBT is/was a classic example of talking the talk but not walking the walk. Nest of vipers.

I like the post on complaints being taken to our wonderful H. R department dealing with the bullies at Stonehouse they do nothing about the complaints because they are no better than the bullies themselves, we all know how they talk down to those who go through the consultation meetings like they are important people also I like the part about Ethics and Diversity management and H. R need to watch those videos, they might learn something from them.

Poor management, the last round of redundancies led to all shopfloor staff from Stonehouse and Quedgeley being completely understaffed, while the top heavy management mostly worked from home. This is a company that says it cares about their staff this is total rubbish. They need to practice what they preach and they all need to have a good look at themselves, most of the management are bullies.

SBT has been a regime for far too long. The way decent people have been treated in the past by the same certain group of individuals is disgraceful and is mind boggling that it has been allowed to continue. Producing poor products and costing the company money for years, yet making people’s life’s he-l at the same time.

The last reply is spot on. I wonder how many complaints were taken to HR and then ignored? Ethics & diversity - yeah right.

Very poor management, bullying, low morale and no regard for individual effort in trying to do a good job at this location, not really surprising the quality of the batteries produced are poor and unreliable.
Major change in SLB work ethic and people management are required to turn this situation around but it's been so deeply entrenched and long established within this company historically any change may be too late now .
Copied from a previous post but so truly sums the reality of SHTC , not just the battery plant in building B.
So many useless managers still in place making life difficult for a small minority of workers left who do care and try against overwhelming odds to do a good job but are hampered and harassed and bullied on a daily basis making any positive progress impossible, sadly now a race to the bottom for this so called technology centre.

So much dead wood still left here at SHTC, top heavy poor management for many years has contributed to low staff moral , many more chiefs than Indians, surprised this facility is still open
