Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

I need honest responses

Do you know anybody who quit and later regretted it?

I left and love my new position. The new company has issues but nothing compared to DXC. I feel happier and truly enjoy my life again. I actually get to have a life now rather than the constant stress of getting a call at any time (day or night) and knowing there isn't anything I can do to fix it. There is no regret from me for leaving DXC. Only thing is I wish it would have happened sooner.

Yes, I do know at least 2 people who have left and come back. But to put things into perspective, I rarely hear of anyone leaving ANY company and regretting it, regardless of the circumstances.

I know quite a few people who were WFR and have said it was the best thing that ever happened to them. Over the years I've also known a number of people who left on their own terms and moved on to better jobs with better salaries. There have been a couple people in my division who came back to CSC/DXC, mostly because their skill sets were very application specific and didn't translate well into the outside world.

I know one person. They quit and came to work with me at a new place. The job required them to be far more of a consultant that they were comfortable with, so they called DXC and DXC offered a bit more money. And off they went.

But that's one in literally dozens who left the DXC Eclipse operation.

Some individuals who left explained to me that, although the first employment opportunity they took after leaving DXC was not necessarily making them entirely happy, they had no regrets about leaving DXC.

I was better off before I joined DXC. I just didn't realise it at the time - I was with Capgemini before DXC and facing the endless battle to get promoted to 'Director / Principal' level.

Joining DXC got me the promotion I couldn't get at Capgemini. But was probably the worst career move I ever made.

After trying to get the voluntary WFR payout, I quit anyway. I'm with a smaller niche consultancy now, and I certainly don't regret leaving.

There is no way I'd go back, I'd go freelance / contracting before I went near DXC again.

I know two out of approx. 250 who returned to DXC.
The others are definitely better off.

I know someone who regrets leaving DXC.
After about a year out, he came back.

It depends I guess.... looking back at my pre-DXC career, any of those companies are worse than even DXC....but in different ways.

I can't say any of them back then refused to give pay rises, but they certainly were not great in other ways.

The grass isn't always greener I guess,

I did not quit, but I got laid off and am quite happy because I got a better job and a much higher rate of pay.

I know of only one person who left and returned shortly thereafter. I inquired why she returned. She stated that her new job was very boring. She didn’t come back because she liked DXC. DXC was more something she decided to live with, since she liked the particular job.

I would never quit without having something else to go to. I have left jobs before DXC and later regretted it. But I was lucky the VP wanted me back so badly he matched myy new salary + $4,000 and I kept my standing with the company like I never left. I now get 2 pensions from that comapny at over $3,000.00 a month
