Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Claim layoffs

Property claims desperately need independent adjusters. Our work load is through the roof, not to mention the HUNDREDS of employees quitting and us taking on their load. Why don’t they take the auto adjusters and put them here instead of the ccc??? They’ve been telling us the last 2 months they’ve been on a hiring frenzy for us since retention is the lowest it’s ever been. He-l if you want to be safe come here, we need IAs badly!!!

@ovd Wrong. When we were informed we would be moving over to CCC it was asked what kind of work we would be doing there and they would not tell us but did say that it was a full move to CCC roles and we would be doing no claims and adjusting work at all. We are being moved to CCC jobs completely.

Allstate claims: home to the most underpaid AND overworked adjusters in the industry

Casualty Claims needs adjusters just as much. Every Day someone quits due to unrealistic expectations and demand. Allstate has the ability to hire outside independent adjusters to work the pending but won’t. The workload will be placed on the allready stressed, overwhelmed and overworked adjusters.

I'll never understand the claims department. The are hiring adjusters like crazy....but moving 30-40 adjusters to CCC in June. They just laid off 50+ processors last week but then hiring from outside for other similar positions. It is like there are 3-4 different ideals and processes going on within claims and none of them know what the others are doing. They are lowering the metrics for claims processors after just announcing layoffs but on the adjuster side files and assigned claims continue to skyrocket to unattainable requirements.

They can’t afford to transfer auto adjusters anywhere else. It’s an absolute train wreck and it’s kinda just being crazy ignored. They are trying to hire but as quickly as they hire, they lose the same amount of people.

Its a shame that SF sat on their hands for a whole year, during a pandemic where money were out of work and desperate, not hiring a damn person. Like what metrics does staffing use to determine if they are worth the money paid to them? How about putting a fortune 50 company in a massive short staffing situation they need to dig out of now? Why do i pay the price for SF's mismanagement of their staffing needs?

Why does management get a pass for everything but I HAVE to be flexible and do whats needed for SFs mistakes with staffing? Why cant SF be the flexible one? Why cant they hire managers who are not short sighted on staffing?

Everything is suffering due to the mismanagement if staff over the year.

I am an Outside Adjuster and they are in a hiring frenzy because people either are quitting or getting fired due to the claim load and metrics. I've seen so many claims where the previous Adjuster has been deactivated. Also, there are people from auto coming to property just as I know property adjusters are going back to auto. Property is tough but in fact all parts of claims is tough and a cr---y situation for us. The sad thing is Allstate is going to hire alot of property adjusters only to lay them off once they realized they over hired.

You want auto adjusters to move to property? You realize property isn’t the only understaffed area right? My weekly claim average in auto has been 5.4 claims a day or higher for a month now. All my stuff is stuck because total loss can’t do anything, rental can’t do anything, and I have ECO tasks for you that are six weeks overdue. Get a grip. Everything here sucks. Go find a new job.

The only auto ADJUSTERS moving to CCC are those transitioning to the CCC estimating portal to receive assignments. They are still handling auto assignments. Auto is understaffed as well by 300 adjusters.

I resigned from my position as a senior property adjuster right after Allstate shut down ERL and raised the threshold to 4 claims a day. I realized pretty quick that Allstate did not value my loyalty or work ethic. I have accepted a position with USAA with better benefits and a 30% pay raise. Get out now!!...the grass IS greener on the other side.

I don't get why they are moving any of us auto adj to CCC anyways. We are short staffed in auto adj itself. And they are moving some of the most tenured and best of us to CCC to do a job that we don't even know what it is while they water down the claims area quality with new hires and Indians. They are devaluing the claims roles and it seems to all be part of the plan.
