Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Consequences of attrition

I quit the same day as two of my colleagues. I can't say that it wasn't nice to work here at one point... it was, but it's not anymore. With all the people leaving, the short-term consequences are clear. The more people leave the greater the chaos.
I'm just wondering if those at the top will know how to repair the damage and what will be the long-term consequences of what is happening now with the attrition at DXC?

The review system is a complete joke. This is not confined to DXC alone. A few years back our group leader basically copped out on the reviews and gave her entire leadership team a 3 because we didn't achieve our goals. What a great motivator. And of course if we had exceeded all our goals would we have all been rated a 1? Not a chance. I went almost three years without a real review. Turnover, laziness, and who knows what other reason.

As for the original poster's note - there are some parts of the business that are unrepairable. I'm wondering if it is most or even all parts of the business. It would be possible to turn things around, it's been done at bigger companies before, but I wouldn't bet on it. I can't quite see the end game for this company. ATOS was the easy way out, but ego is a hard thing to overcome. Mike v2 doesn't quite have what it takes. You could see the cracks in his armor at some of the town halls last year (maybe that's why he doesn't do them anymore?). Hopefully it's a soft landing for most.

Fairly sure you'll hear from salvino very shortly about the fy21 results or the rebrand or the grand plan from the investors day...

On the appraisals ratings, i heard the comment that the ceo doesn't rate himself as a 1, presumably he sees himself as top dog and if he isn't achieving a 1 then nobody else is.

It's fundamentally a total misunderstanding of what individual performance ratings are supposed to be. The clue is the word "individual".

Mike v2 has fooled a lot of people, but eyes are being opened now that performance reviews are being held. Employees who have been rated 1's and 2's forever are now receiving 3's. There is only one reason for this and we all know what it is. The managers who were supposed to be released that didn't support a client found ways to stay and release employees who were performing real jobs and supporting our clients. We all expected that Mike v2 came in to clean up the mess from v1 and that we would eventually be sold, now it is even more clear that is what is going to happen.
All this fake "we care about our employees" and all the stupid programs they set up so that we can pat each other on the back is just sad. We don't need to be praised by our fellow employees, we need better health benefits and better pay after suffering for so long. People are voting with their feet and the numbers will only increase.

Have you noticed that Mike v2 doesn't talk to the troops anymore?
When you do hear from him again, it will be the signal that DXC is being sold off.

This is not about damage or repair anymore. The only job Mike v2 has been employed to do - is to put lipstick on the DXC pig, before it goes to sl------r.
